Milk Mart: Interactive Map

In 2023, I had the honor of creating a few interactive maps for Milk Mart, an Orlando-based handmade art market. It was and remains the most Canvas-heavy web development project I’ve ever done, and it demanded that I get very familiar with the premier 2D graphics library in the space, Pixi.js. After the first few humps, it ended up being a pleasure to work with, and in the process I was able to develop and contribute to some open-source helper libraries to help get the project finished.

It was a pleasure working with market director Ashley Hallenbeck on applying the lively and cheerful design language of Milk Mart to the map’s user interface, and the end result is a visually appealing, highly-performant, and lightweight interactive map that runs reliably on both desktop and mobile browsers.
